Global Connectivity with Bluetooth Chips

Hubble Network is building the first global IoT connectivity layer powered by standard, unmodified Bluetooth Low Energy chips. By engineering a hybrid terrestrial and LEO satellite network tuned for BLE's narrowband signal, we let off-the-shelf SoCs—nRF52, nRF54L, CC2340, EFR32, and others—transmit directly to satellites hundreds of kilometers overhead, with no GPS, cellular modem, or proprietary radio required. This session walks through the system architecture that makes BLE-to-satellite communication work in practice: link budget tradeoffs at 2.4 GHz, duty-cycled power profiles that deliver multi-year battery life on a coin cell, and the SDK abstractions that let developers add global coverage to an existing BLE product with minimal firmware changes. Attendees will see how a sub-dollar BLE chip becomes a globally trackable device, and where this unlocks asset tracking, supply chain visibility, and remote monitoring.
