When Contracts Meet Products: Connected Agreements, SLAs, and Outcome-Based Pricing in IIoT
IoT has made products, machines and assets increasingly connected, but the commercial and contractual layer behind them often remains static. In practice, this creates a growing gap between what is contractually agreed, what is operationally delivered, and what the data actually shows.
I would like to introduce the concept of Connected Agreements: a new approach in which contracts, SLAs, pricing models, and lifecycle commitments are linked to real operational data from connected assets, industrial systems, and digital product ecosystems. Instead of treating agreements as isolated legal documents, organizations can use IIoT data to make service levels more transparent, pricing more outcome-based, and performance more verifiable across the product lifecycle.
The session will also explore why this matters now in Europe, especially with the newEU Data Act, growing expectations around data access and interoperability, and the emergence of AI agents as a next step for monitoring, governance, and operational decision support.
