From NFC to UWB: demonstrating an Aliro-ready access platform

Lucrezia Ranno

Proof point statement: We demonstrate that a single Aliro-ready platform can support secure and interoperable access experiences across NFC, Bluetooth® LE, and future UWB-enabled use cases. Using the STEVAL-ALOCKCB reference design and supporting software stack, we show Aliro credential provisioning and all the secure access transactions on a common hardware and software foundation.

The ST TruELock demo showcases a working Aliro-ready smart lock platform that supports secure access through NFC for a tap-and-go experience, Bluetooth® Low Energy, and future UWB-enabled use cases for hands-free access control. Using the ST STEVAL-ALOCKCB reference design, we will demonstrate mobile credential provisioning and secure access transactions.

The demo emulates a real door lock, including the user interface and mechanical components, to give attendees a realistic use case. It also shows how Aliro can change the access control scenario with a mobile key. The demo highlights flexibility and key security capabilities. It also includes debugging features that help developers build secure and interoperable Aliro-compliant access solutions.

Attendees will see how the same hardware and software foundation can help accelerate Aliro adoption while preparing for future UWB-enabled experiences. The demo highlights the practical implementation of security services, interoperability, and protocol flexibility that developers can apply to their own connected-access designs.
