Marcel Schouwenaar is a designer, researcher, and inventor exploring how technology shapes attention, behavior, and everyday life. He is the founder of ScrollScrollScroll, a design collective (est. 2024) that develops playful, tech-enabled interventions to help young people reclaim control over their time and focus.

Combining scientific insight with creative experimentation—and a dose of humor—his work turns complex problems into tangible, engaging solutions. One such project is the Spel Bel, a LoRa-powered playground “doorbell” that notifies nearby parents when kids are playing outside, lowering the threshold for real-world social interaction.
