Data fusion framework for agriculture and the environment
Data fusion on edge devices and gateways has the potential to give higher-level insights close to the data source. This technique provides the decision basis for edge intelligence including notifications and autonomous acting. The hands-on workshop introduces a new data fusion and enrichment framework based on message brokers that has become the essential data backbone in an industrial product for herd management. It involves trackers, weather stations and other LoRa-connected devices, fusing events from them with external APIs such as weather stations and vegetation surveys to provide a remote eye on the situation on the ground in remote areas. Modular components, integrated replay/reproducibility functions and a convenient control terminal are among the key features. The data fusion framework integrates directly with TTN's message brokering. It reduces the time needed to extract insights from the ground situation and brings added value to existing infrastructure such as gateways.
