The Things Forum Two
Driving IoT-Security Innovation & Compliance Success with Decentralized Identities
Markus Soppa
Thanks to the hyperconnectivity of the (industrial) Internet of Things (IoT), industries benefit from interconnected processes driven by AI. Yet this growth brings challenges: fragmented data silos, poor interoperability, and lack of user control over sensitive data. Decentralized Identities (DCI) address these issues by giving organizations and individuals control over when, how, and with whom data is shared. Decentralized technologies simplify trusted collaboration, strengthen autonomy, and build a solid foundation for regulations like the Cyber Resilience Act and EU Data Protection rules. This session explores how owner-centric identity technologies break down silos, ensure compliance, improve interoperability, and enable secure, future-proof IoT ecosystems.
